AFC Leopards have opened talks aimed at keeping midfielder Bernard Mang'oli at the Den.
This comes few hours after Goal reported that Sofapaka are interested in securing services of the free agent ahead of Kenyan Premier League resumption. Batoto ba Mungu President Elly Kalekwa confirmed on Tuesday that they had opened negotiations to sign the key player from Ingwe and that a deal could be reached soon. "It is true we are in the process of signing Mang'oli from AFC Leopards.
"We have been following the player's progress and we believe that he can be a good addition to our squad. We have already talked to the player and his representatives because he is a free agent and I hope a deal to bring him home will be reached soon."
However, Ingwe CEO Robert Namai has confirmed that they are in talks to extend Mang'oli's stay. "We are meeting him today (Tuesday) and I hope a deal will be reached for him to stay for another season. We don't want to lose our captain at this point of the season."
Sofapaka have already raided Chemelil Sugar for veteran midfielder Hillary Echesa and Willis Ouma.
