'It's a commendable display' vs. Rangers - Kester hails Enyimba’s performance

Enyimba’s Kelly Kester hails his teammates' 'commendable display' in the 2-1 victory over Enugu Rangers on Sunday.

With two minutes left to play, skipper, Mfon Udoh sealed a memorable comeback for the People’s Elephants after Stephen Chukwude had equalised Daniel Etor’s first half opener.

Kester, forced to sit out the Oriental Derby as a result of a minor knock, was left impressed with his teammates’ performance.

“It was a great game. We played the current Nigeria Professional Football League champions and went down to a goal, and came back to win,” Kester told Goal.

“It was a commendable display from the guys and we thank God for the victory.

"I really commend the guys for the display they put out against Enugu Rangers.”

The result means Rangers are still rooted to the bottom of the log and the midfielder believes that the qualities within Imama Amapakabo’s rank will eventually see them through.

“Yes, I believe they have the quality and can still get their season back on track, maybe they have a problem but I’m sure they will overcome it,” he said.

On Enyimba embarking on another run of games without defeat, he said: “That’s the exact aim; to get the win and maybe embark on a run as we did before the game in Bauchi.

"The next game in Katsina is our next obstacle and we’ll try to get something out of the game," he concluded.
