Katsina United to miss top stars ahead of Rivers United clash

Katsina United duo of Kassaly Dauda and Destiny Ashadi are major doubts for the Changi Boys ahead of their Wednesday evening rescheduled league tie with Rivers United in Port Harcourt while Dominic Abah is still under suspension.

Dauda who is the Niger Republic national team goalkeeper is still unfit from a recent injury he sustained while Ashadi is still suffering from the knock he received in their 1-1 away draw with Lobi Stars and only have a 50-50 chance of facing the Pride of Rivers even though he traveled with the team to Port Harcourt.

Katsina United won’t have the chance to call on Abah as well after the defender got a straight red card in their 2-0 away loss to Enyimba and he is due to miss three straight games. He was unavailable for their 1-1 draw with Lobi Stars and will still miss the fixture with Rivers United and another one before he completes his suspension quota.

“We are going to be missing Dominic Abah who will be serving the second game of his three-match suspension while Kassaly Dauda and Destiny Ashadi are major doubts for the game with Rivers United,” Katsina United media disclosed.

“We still believe we have left for Port Harcourt with the players that can guarantee us another away point. The players that are either in doubt or won’t be available for the game won’t stand in our way and a positive result.”

Katsina United are in the seventh position in the NPFL Group A with 10 points from seven games.
