The 24-year-old contributed a goal early on before winning the penalty that led to his side's third vs. Caen

Cameroon attacker Karl Toko Ekambi was on the scoresheet for a second consecutive week as he scored again for his Angers in their 3-2 win over Caen in a Ligue 1 match played on Saturday.

Ekambi opened the scoring inside the opening minutes to give his side an early lead – following a brace last weekend in the 3-2 win over Bastia. Ronny Rodelin rounded Mathieu Michel to score the equalizer but Cameroon's Cheikh Ndoye headed in from Issa Cissokho’s cross to restore Angers' advantage.

He was then fouled inside the area and Thomas Mangani converted the resulting penalty for Angers’ third.

Ivan Santini did pull one back for SMC, but Les Scoistes held on for maximum points which move them into the top half of the log. Angers are on a run of six games without defeat in all competitions.

Nations Cup gold medalist Ekambi has now netted five times this campaign in 21 appearances since arriving from Ligue 2 side Sochaux at the beginning of the season.

Despite leaving for a month earlier in the year to aid Cameroon’s quest for the continental tittle in Gabon, Stephane Moulin continues to show faith in the 24-year-old and is being rewarded richly.

Cameroon are expected to announce their squad for the two friendlies scheduled for late this month  against Tunisia and Guinea – their first matches since the Afcon - and given Ekambi’s current form, he is expected to be amongst the players Hugo Broos will continue to work with.
