Kaizer Chiefs confirm Yusuf Bunting's loan move to Highlands Park

Kaizer Chiefs have announced that forward Yusuf Bunting has been sent out on loan for the duration of the 2018/19 Premier Soccer League (PSL) season.

The 22-year-old who is an Amakhosi youth product, has made a name for himself in the MultiChoice Diski Challenge over recent seasons.

His performances certainly did not go unnoticed with former coach Steve Komphela at the helm, as he was promoted to the first team.

However, Bunting saw game time hard to come by as he failed to make a single appearance in the top-flight last season.

Now, with a new coach at the helm in Giovanni Solinas and the marquee signing of Khama Billiat having been made, it was apparent that Bunting’s woes would continue.

Nonetheless, Bunting has been given a reprieve with Chiefs confirming that he will be loaned out to fellow PSL side Highlands Park, in order to gain some much-needed experience.

Chiefs took their Twitter account to break the news of Bunting’s loan on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, it will be hoped that with Owen Da Gama at the helm, Bunting will be given a chance to finally prove his worth, while at the same time helping Highlands Park in their search for PSL safety in their first season back in the PSL.

It won’t be easy though for Bunting, who will meet stern competition in the Highlands Park ranks. Bunting will come up against far more experienced campaigners such as Moeketsi Sekola and Mothobi Mvala.

It now remains to be seen whether or not Bunting will be part of Highlands Park’s matchday squad that will take on Black leopards on Thursday afternoon.
