With 10 points from six matches, Jorge Costa’s side are currently placed on the fifth position in the league table. Their opponents NorthEast United, on the other hand, have had a flying start to their season and are currently sitting in the third position with 11 points from five matches.
On being asked how tough will it be for Mumbai to face an in-form NorthEast United, coach Jorge Costa said, “They (NorthEast United) had a good start to the season. For the last two, three days I was watching NorthEast United and they are very good."
"They have very good players. In terms of organisation during the 90 minutes, they are really good. This means that we have a very difficult job, but tomorrow its 11 against 11 on the field. We can also do very good things. Our wish is to go back home with the three points," he continued.
Mumbai City FC have two Assamese players Alen Deory and Pranjal Bhumij in their squad this season. On being asked to comment on these two players’ performance, Costa said, “I don’t like to speak about individual players. I prefer to speak about the team. I have 25 players and I am happy with everyone. This includes Alen Deory and Pranjal Bhumij. They are good players. They are working hard and waiting for their opportunities.”
Eelco Schattorie’s side are likely to miss several first-choice players due to injuries. When queried if the opposition’s injury concerns are an advantage to his side, the Portuguese coach said, “We also have some injuries. But as I said I have 25 players and I believe in all of them. I am sure the coach of NorthEast United also thinks the same and believes in his squad.”
