Jamshedpur FC failed to register a hat-trick of wins at home as they were held to a goalless draw by NorthEast United FC on Saturday at the JRD TATA Sports Complex.
Both teams could not create enough goal scoring chances as the defences stood strong throughout.
Speaking about the match, Jamshedpur coach Cesar Ferrando opined, “We played against a very good team. They control the ball and pass well. It was difficult to score against them although we tried our best. We are happy to get one point against such a strong side.”
However, Ferrando was not satisfied with his team’s performance on the pitch. “NorthEast are a very strong side and against such teams, we have to be more aggressive. Today (Saturday) there were too many passes and we couldn’t play the way we generally play. But we are a good side as well and we tried our best.”
He further mentioned that given the manner his team played today, he was content with a point. “There were too many misplaced passes and we played too many long balls. If we play this way we won’t be able to create goal scoring opportunities. We made mistakes in set-pieces as well. The way we played today, I am happy that we got a point. I am thinking about the next game now,” said the Spanish coach.
Jamshedpur FC next travel to Kochi to take on Kerala Blasters on December 4.
