Irfan Fandi signed by BG Pathum United

Irfan Fandi will be plying his trade in Thailand next season, after BG Pathum United announced the signing of the 21-year-old centre-back.

Details of the contract have yet to be announced but the news was confirmed by club president, Pavin Bhirombhakdi during the club’s own news programme.

"For ASEAN slot, now we've got Irfan Fandi, son of Singapore legend Fandi Ahmad. All details are agreed. He's happy to join even we're in T2 next season. He'll join the pre-season right after AFF Cup. Now we've only Asian slot to fill," mentioned the president.

Irfan starred in Singapore's 1-0 shock win  over Indonesia last night as he was at the heart of a Lions defence which kept a clean sheet.
