FC Ifeanyi Ubah, Niger Tornadoes and Go Round have joined the list of Nigeria Professional Football League sides to exit the Federation Cup following their defeats on Sunday.
Last year’s finalist, Ikon Allah Boys were bundled out by Nigeria National League side Kogi United 1-0 at the Aper Aku Stadium, Makurdi courtesy of Ibrahim Enesi 73th minute strike.
In Port Harcourt, the Anambra Warriors, who won the 2016 edition were eliminated after a 1-0 loss by lower league side J Atete FC, who upset Rivers United last year at the Shark Stadium.
Third division side Supreme Court FC, who initially upset Shooting Stars eliminated topflight team Go Round FC on penalties after both played out a 1-1 draw in regulation time in Akure.
The exit of Ifeanyi Ubah, Niger Tornadoes, Go Round joined Lobi Stars, MFM and Heartland, bringing to six the number of topflight sides that have bid the competition goodbye this year.
