I-League 2017: Khalid Jamil gunning for victory while Bino George seeks one point

With his team in with a chance to go top of the I-League 2017-18 charts when they welcome Gokulam Kerala FC to the Salt Lake stadium, East Bengal coach Khalid Jamil was keeping his feet on the ground in the pre-match press conference.

“We have to just go and play good football. Every team which comes to play us will give their hundred percent so we cannot take anyone lightly. I do not know much about their (Gokulam Kerala FC’s) specialities but I had watched their first game. We have to play positive and think about our own game rather than others,” the tactician explained.

East Bengal striker Willis Plaza, who returned to form with a brace against Churchill Brothers, also emphasized the need to get the three points on Wednesday.

“I am feeling good at the moment with my game and have been working hard. But the end of the matter is that we need three points,” Plaza commented.

On the other hand, Gokulam coach Bino George made his intentions clear by stressing he was searching for a point against the in-form Kolkata giants.

“I have respect for East Bengal, they are a big team. I am looking for a point here. I am not happy with the performances we have put in so far but this is a new club and it will take time before we start performing,” he said.

Gokulam striker Rohit Mirza echoed George’s statement about looking for a point in the tie.

“They are a good side. We take one match at a time. We are working hard and hopefully, we will play well. There is pressure and we will want to win a point,” he remarked.
