Beleaguered coach of the Accra-based outfit is opposed to the idea of working under another tactician, despite the club’s poor form

Great Olympics coach Godwin Attram says he will leave the club should they go ahead with plans to appoint Swede Tom Strand as new head coach.

Attram, who doubles as a player at the club, has seen his future thrown in doubt following the ‘Dade’ Boys’ poor start to the Ghana Premier League, and reports suggest he could be demoted to an assistant coach with the former Medeama trainer’s appointment.

Oly have won only one game on the pitch after matchday 11, the latest setback being Monday’s 2-1 home defeat to Aduana Stars.

“I cannot work with Tom Strand, if I will have to work with him, then I will resign from club both as a coach and player as well,” Attram said on Monday.

“I have communicated my decision to management [on what I intend to do] if they should go ahead with the appointment of Strand as head coach.

“I believe in what am doing for the club. I’ve learnt from top coaches during my professional career and numerous coaches on the local scene have also been helpful to my course.

“I entreat management to be supportive to my course and hopefully things will get better for Olympics.”

Oly are currently caught up in the relegation zone on the 14th position, with a game in hand.

The Accra-based outfit have won two of 10 games, drawing four and losing the other four.

Three of six points currently credited to the ‘Dade’ Boys on the table came from the boardroom following a successful protest against Bolga All Stars.
