The Phobians will play in the cup climax for the first time since 2000 after accounting for Wa All Stars in Obuasi

Hearts of Oak beat Wa All Stars on Sunday to book a date in the final of the 2017 Ghana FA Cup but the Phobians will have to wait until Monday to find out their opponents as heavy rains disrupted the encounter between Asante Kotoko and Medeama.

It was a double-header at the Len Clay Stadium in Obuasi as both games were fixed for the venue.

Fresh from his Wafu Cup of Nations heroics, Patrick Razak put Hearts in front on 31 minutes, drilling a low shot beyond goalkeeper Rashid Seidu.

Kwame Kizito, another member of Ghana's victorious Wafu team, made it 2-0 for the Phobians in the 52nd minute.

The striker picked up a loose ball in the box following an All Stars defensive blunder, and coolly planted it to the right of Seidu to increase their lead.

And after Razak saw a shot come off the crossbar, substitute Sam Mensah halved the deficit for All Stars on 68 minutes.

Ten-time winners Hearts are through to the final for the first time in 17 years.

In the second game, referee Awal Mohammed called off the clash between Asante Kotoko and Medeama in the 22nd minute due to torrential rains.

The score read 0-0 before the abrupt end.

Goal understands the match has been rescheduled for Monday, October 2.

Whereas Kotoko are eight-time winners of the competition, Medeama have lifted the cup twice in the last four years.

Interestingly, the Yellow and Mauves beat the Porcupine Warriors to win both trophies.
