GPL week five wrap: Hearts fall at Dormaa

Aduana Stars were simply too strong for Hearts of Oak as the Ghana Premier League entered week five.

Daniel Darkwah and Derrick Sasraku scored on nine and 17 minutes respectively as the 'Ogya' Boys handed the Phobians a 2-0 win at Dormaa.

Aduana, thus, still maintain their hold of the top spot, but tied on points with Asante Kotoko, who beat Elmina Sharks 1-0 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium. Emmanuel Gyamfi fetched the match winner in injury time.

Berekum Chelsea, meanwhile, occupy the third spot following a 5-1 humiliation of Ashanti Gold at the Golden City Park. Stephen Sarfo (2x), Seth Appiah (pen), Brimah Mohammed and Stephen Amankona were on target for Chelsea, while Kofi Owusu got the Miners' consolation.

Wahidu Mumuni's penalty was the separating factor as Wa All Stars picked a 1-0 home victory over Inter Allies.

The scoreline was not any different at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park where Bechem United recorded a 1-0 win over Liberty Professionals. Hamza Mohammed scored the solitary goal.

Great Olympics avoided defeat on Sunday but their second draw of the season still leaves them bottom of the table. The 'Dade' Boys were held to a scoreless home draw by Wafa at the Accra Sports Stadium.

And earlier on Saturday, Michael Kporvi got both goals as Tema Youth beat Bolga All Stars 2-0 at the Tema Stadium.

In the last match of week five, Ebusua Dwarfs will play Medeama at the Cape Coast Stadium on Monday.
