Free State Stars reportedly planning move for Orlando Pirates striker Nkosi

Orlando Pirates striker Ayanda Nkosi has been linked with a move back to his former side Free State Stars.

The 23-year-old forward has failed to command a regular place in the Pirates starting line-up since arriving at the club from Stars prior to the current season.

According to The Citizen source at Ea Lla Koto, the club will approach the Buccaneers for Nkosi's services on a loan deal for the 2017/18 campaign.

“The team has not been the same this season," a source told the publication.

"There are many departments where the club is lacking, particularly when it comes to attacking players," the source continued.

"We are currently fighting to get out of the relegation zone, we all know we will not end up playing in the NFD because everyone is committed to working hard so that we can secure our PSL status," the source added.

“But we also have to look at the future, we don’t want to have another season such as this one," the source indicated.

"That is why we will go into the market and get all the players we think can help the team to compete," the source explained.

"Nkosi is one of the players we would really like to see back at the club,” the source concluded.

Nkosi recently made his return to the Pirates 18-man squad. He was introduced in the second-half by coach Kjell Jonevret as Bucs drew 0-0 with Highlands Park in a PSL match last weekend.

The frontman has made four league appearances for Pirates this season - netting once which was against his former side Maritzburg United last December.
