Francs Kimanzi raise concerns with Mathare United's blunt attacking force

Francis Kimanzi has admitted that he needs to sort out Mathare United’s poor attacking problem.

Kimanzi has singled out the club’s leading striker, Clifford Alwanga, who missed a penalty in the ‘Slum Boy’s heavy defeat against Nakumatt.

Alwanga’s has endured a long goal drought having laboured for eight games with nothing to show for his sweat. The former Tusker striker blew a chance to extend his tally to 11 when he missed from the spot over the weekend.

But with Mathare United set to face a Zoo Kericho side that is fighting to stay afloat in the league, the Dutch-trained tactician, who has won only one of his last nine games, now say that the problem must be fixed.

“We have to go back to the drawing board and look at what we were doing right in our attacking play. It is bad when this happens to your top scorer but it is something we really want to solve,” Kimanzi told mathareunited.com.

Mathare, who were occupying the second position at the conclusion of the first leg, now find themselves sitting a distant seventh on the log.
