India U20's Anwar Ali has been chosen as last week's Fans' Asian Player of the Week, following his impressive performance in his team's 2-1 win over Argentina U20 in the COTIF Cup in Spain.
The star of the show for India U20 was their 17-year-old defender Anwar Ali, who scored the match winner. He was also named Goal's Asian Player of the Week.
After Deepak Tangri sent India ahead early on in the game, Anwar helped India hold off wave after wave of Argentine attacks before he stepped up for a freekick in the second-half.
He sent a stunning right-footed effort into the far corner where it hit the post and went in, sending India 2-0 up. Argentina got a goal back but some brilliant defending, led by Ali, helped them get the win.

Also in the fray for the honour was Home United's Shakir Hamzah who was also impressive in his side's ASEAN Zone win in the AFC Cup.
But the fans made their voice count as Anwar received a whopping majority of the votes.
