FA Cup quarter-final fixtures: Game previews & TV coverage

Of the hundreds of clubs to have participated at some stage of this year's FA Cup, just eight remain.

Six of those teams participating in this weekend's quarter-finals play in the Premier League but two have enjoyed memorable runs to come this far in the competition, and one has made history.

Lincoln City, of the fifth tier, are the first non-league side to reach the quarter-finals of the oldest tournament in football in over 100 years.

The Imps will face their sternest test yet against Arsenal while League One side Millwall, who made the final as a Championship club in 2003-04, face Tottenham.

Middlesbrough vs Man City

The FA Cup may be City's only realistic chance of silverware after their 0-0 draw at Stoke City all but ended their already slim Premier League title hopes.

Pep Guardiola's side remain in the Champions League, but given they are something of a work in progress it would be asking a lot to expect them to go all the way in that competition. He will be keen for his young players to start proving their trophy-winning credentials, however, and the Cup provides an excellent opportunity.

No one has paid much attention to Middlesbrough's failure to win a league game since December 17, but they are now well and truly in relegation trouble. Having landed a very difficult draw, Aitor Karanka may just want to get this one out of the way and refocus his team on their survival bid.

Arsenal vs Lincoln City

Lincoln have seen off League One side Oldham, Championship outfits Ipswich and Brighton and Premier League club Burnley to arrive in the quarter-finals.

Arsenal have had a relatively smooth route into the last eight and will be heavy favourites again versus non-league opposition, but their last-16 victory over Sutton United, also of the National League, was not a complete walkover.

The Gunners are also dealing with the turmoil of their embarrassing Champions League exit to Bayern Munich and speculation surrounding the future of Arsene Wenger and Alexis Sanchez, and if the Imps can unsettle their more illustrious hosts they may uncover a degree of mental fragility.

Tottenham vs Millwall

Tottenham host a London derby against third-tier Millwall that should provide feisty football spurred on by a passionate atmosphere.

Spurs have not actually won the FA Cup since 1991 and with the title looking just out of reach once again, Mauricio Pochettino is another manager who would surely love to add to the club trophy cabinet as he continues to nurture a promising young team.

The 2016-17 campaign so far is certainly presenting them with a chance, as they are yet to play another top-flight side.

Chelsea vs Manchester United

The tie most eyes will be on is at Stamford Bridge on Monday night, when Jose Mourinho makes his latest return to his former club.

With the League Cup already won and their Europa League campaign also active, Mourinho still has the chance to claim a treble of sorts in his first season at United despite the fact they have work to do to finish in the top four of the Premier League.

Chelsea have no reason to turn their noses up at the FA Cup, however, given their lead at the top of the league table is under little threat. The possibility of a domestic double will surely be appealing to a competitor like Antonio Conte and this match feels like it has a bit more edge than meetings in cups might sometimes have for these two clubs as a result.
