Enyimba’s Dare Ojo has urged his side to remain focused on their quest to qualify for the knockout phase after Wednesday’s 1-0 win over Williamsville AC at the Yakubu Gowon Stadium.
The People Elephants suffered a 3-0 humiliation against CARA Brazzaville in May but Ibrahim Mustapha’s early strike stunned Koffi Kablan's men to go top of Group C.
And the former Kwara United man revealed that they fought hard to subdue a ‘strong’ Ivorian side in Port Harcourt as he further tasks his mates to maintain the tempo.
“It was really a tough match but it was more important that we won,” Ojo told Goal.
“We played against a good and strong Williamsville side and knew they have not lost any of their matches in the group which made them very difficult to beat.
“I must admit that they dominated the game, though we created some chances what mattered to us was fighting hard together for the three points which we did. Kudos to everyone on the team.
“Overall, It was a good result for us. We must remain focused and consolidate our good position in our remaining matches. I believe we have all it takes to qualify."
With six points from three games, table-toppers Usman Abdullah's side will travel to Abidjan in high hopes to stun Williamsville on July 29, 2018.
