Enugu Rangers promised N1 million to beat Akwa United

In what would become a custom throughout the season, the Flying Antelopes have been promised a huge cash reward should they secure a win in Uyo

Enugu Rangers players will receive a cash reward of one million naira should they defeat Akwa United at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium on Sunday.

The Flying Antelopes have travelled to face Abdu Maikaba's men for their 2017-18 season opener in Uyo, where they will be hoping for a winning start.

And Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi is eager to see the Enugu side repeat their 2016 title success with coach Gbenga Ogunbote at the helm, hence his cash promise.

Team manager Ameobi Ezeaku confirmed the Enugu State supremo's pledge, which was extended to all home and away wins, commencing with the Promise Keepers clash.

"Enugu State Governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi has promised that Enugu Rangers players will get N1m for any home or away win this season apart from their normal match bonus," Ezeaku told Goal.

"He has done a lot to reorganise the club and very determined to see the team do well once again and record a successful outing this season."
