Unai Emery says he would welcome the opportunity to work in Serie A, with the Spaniard waiting on enticing offers after parting company with Arsenal in November.

The Gunners opted to relieve the former Sevilla and Paris Saint-Germain boss of his duties in north London 18 months after appointing him as successor to the legendary Arsene Wenger.

Emery has been out of work since leaving Emirates Stadium, but continues to be linked with various posts across Europe.

He is looking to get back into the dugout at the earliest opportunity and concedes that, having already worked in Spain, France and England, a spell in Italy would appeal to him.

Emery, who has previously been mooted as a coaching target for Juventus, told TuttoJuve of his future plans: “I coached for 16 years in a row, so decided to take a little rest to prepare for the project that most inspires me.

“I won’t rule out any country: England, France, Spain, where I already worked, or Italy, which I’ve never worked in before.

“I did have some contact with several Italian clubs, but for one reason or another, it was not possible to work here. I am open to everything and keep a very close eye on Serie A.

“Out of respect and fairness, I will not name the clubs who contacted me in previous years.”

If Emery were to end up in Turin, then he could be reunited with a familiar face in the form of ex-Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey.

The Wales international spent the 2018-19 campaign working under Emery before leaving as a free agent.

“Ramsey decided to leave and he joined a big club,” said Emery.

“Aaron will be very important for Juventus, as he shares their ambition.

“I complimented him on his choice, because he picked a club where he can win a great deal. It’s an interesting challenge for him.”

It remains to be seen how long Ramsey will spend on the books of the Bianconeri.

He has shown flashes of his ability in the 2019-20 campaign, but has been restricted to just 24 appearances amid fierce competition for places and has seen Juve linked with moves to bring in further midfield options in the next transfer window – including Manchester United star Paul Pogba.
