The 22-year-old was linked with several clubs last summer and was close to joining Premier League side Brighton and Hove Albion but the deal did not materialise following a failed medical.
“FC Zurich haven’t told me anything yet about an official bid from Schalke 04. I’ve only read it on the internet like you but my club is yet to tell me anything about it so I will treat it as a rumour for now,” Dwamena told Happy FM.
“However, I’m crossing my fingers and if the deal happens to be true, then I believe it’ll be the will of God,” he added.
Dwamena also insists that the botched Premier League move didn't take a toll on him.
“I can’t say it affected my season that much but normally as a human being, it will affect you a little bit but I believe life without challenges is no life,” he said.
“I’ve moved on from what happened last year. By God’s grace we’ve qualified for the Europa League so I’m looking forward to it,” he added.
Dwamena, who joined Zurich from Austria Lustenau last year, scored nine goals in 32 appearances including 28 starts.
He made his debut for Ghana last year, scoring a brace in a 5-0 win over Ethiopia in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
