Australian football stalwart Clint Bolton believes Socceroos prodigy Daniel Arzani has become one of the team's most important players heading into the World Cup.

In an exclusive video series for Goal, the four-time Australian international explained how he thought the 19-year-old should be used in the World Cup matches against France, Denmark and Peru.

"I'd go as far as saying he is one of our most important players now in that Socceroos camp when you think about winning games," Bolton told Goal.

"Hopefully [Australia] frustrate France for as long as they can and throw on Daniel Arzani and get a winner.

"I certainly wouldn't use him at the start because there is many facets to his game he hasn't developed as well as his attacking game.

"You think about the way Australia's playing at the moment and Daniel Arzani needs to defend a lot if he starts - so he hasn't quite developed that.

"So throw him on late in the second half or even early depending on what the game needs but use him - you got to use him because he is a game breaker."

The Socceroos begin their Russian adventure against the Les Bleus at Kazan Arena on Saturday at 8pm (AEST).
