Bolga chief Alhassan optimistic club will not be relegated

Bolga All Stars new owner Alhassan Abdullai says the club will not be relegated despite their terrible start to the Ghana Premier League campaign.

The Upper East club have picked only four points from six games, following financial difficulties which led to a change of ownership last week.

Alhassan, who doubles as Ghana FA executive committee member, says the club will return to winning ways under his leadership.

“I have taken over and things will improve henceforth. When you watch our last game against Asante Kotoko, there is only one thing that comes into mind – motivation. The players indicated that if they are highly motivated, they can deliver for us," Alhassan said.

“I am not bringing anything special on board. What I want to concentrate greatly on is motivating the players before and ahead of games. And I think by doing that, we can survive the drop at the end of the season.

“It’s definitely too early to talk about who survives or suffers relegation at the end of the season but I am very optimistic that my side will survive and keep their top-flight status," he added.

Bolga will travel to the Golden City Park to face Berekum Chelsea on Wednesday, before they host another Brong Ahafo side Bechem United, at the Tamale Utrecht Park on Saturday.
