Bechem confirm Alberto Annese as head coach

Ghana FA Cup champions Bechem United have announced the signing of Italian Vincenzo Alberto Annese in a one-year contract, with an option to extend for one additional year.

The 32-year-old, who replaces Manuel Zacharias, holds Uefa Pro License badge and has worked as coach in many countries including Lithuania, Latvia, Russia, China, Estonia and Armenia. However, unlike his predecessor, he is new to Africa and becomes the first Italian to handle a top-flight side in Ghana.

He will lead Bechem in their maiden participation in the Caf Confederations Cup. They will face Algerian side M.C Alger in a double header of the preliminary stage of the competition.

The club have recruited Amed Toure, Sadiq Abubakar, Akoto Danso, Stephen Tetteh, Daniel Egyin, Moro Salifu, Mike Ansah, Richard Amoah, Ibrahim Alhassan, Sampson Adu, Haruna Issah and Owusu Bempah.

The 2017 season is scheduled to start on February 4 after litigation delayed the initial kick off date in December 2016.
