Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Marco Verratti continues to be heavily linked with Barcelona and has admitted that he would like to play alongside Neymar.

Verratti has experienced first-hand this season the destructive qualities of the Brazilian forward.

Verratti to discuss PSG future

PSG thought they were well on course to reach the Champions League quarter-finals after establishing a commanding first-leg lead over Barca in the last 16, only to see a Neymar masterclass spark a remarkable comeback at Camp Nou.

Asked by beIN Sports to name a dream signing for the reigning Ligue 1 champions, Verratti said: "Who would I pick to join PSG? Neymar. He's a young player. He was impressive in both games against Barca.

“This year, he has taken on a formidable dimension. He is at the level of [Lionel] Messi.

“He is my age and will be a great player for the future.”

Romario: Neymar is world's best

PSG have been linked with Neymar in the past, but the Brazil international is settled and happy at Barcelona.

He committed to a new contract in October which will keep him in Catalonia until 2021.

That means Verratti may well have to head for La Liga if he is to ever grace the same team as a man widely tipped to take the Ballon d’Or crown at some stage in the not too distant future.
