'Appalled and disgusted' - Arsenal fan Corbyn blasts Kroenke's hunting channel

Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn is “appalled” and “disgusted” to learn of Arsenal owner Stan Kroenke’s hunting channel.

My Outdoor TV was launched in the United States back in 2016, but is now available to a UK audience.

The controversial programming, which shows lions and elephants being mutilated for sport, allows subscribers to watch thousands of hunting, shooting and fishing shows.

Arsenal fan Corbyn is sickened to discover that the man at the helm of his beloved football club is involved in such activity and has launched a scathing attack on the billionaire businessman.

He said: “I’m appalled at the glorification of killing wild and rare animals on this TV channel.

“As an Arsenal fan I’m disgusted that Stan Kroenke is involved in such a brutal, unethical and unnecessary activity.

“This is not sport. Kroenke should stick to football if he wants to be involved in sport. In my mind ‘blood sport’ is a contradiction and there should be no place on television or anywhere else for it.”

Kroenke owns over 67 per cent of Arsenal, while his portfolio also includes Major League Soccer side the Colorado Rapids and the Los Angeles Rams NFL franchise.

He came under fire alongside Arsene Wenger last season as the Gunners toiled their way to a fifth place finish in the Premier League.

Their campaign was partially salvaged by another FA Cup triumph, but Kroenke remains a divisive figure in both sporting and entertainment circles.

Philippa King, CEO of the League Against Cruel Sports, has already spoken out against his hunting programmes, saying: “We’re living in a world now where most people can see how brutal and shameful trophy hunting is, yet the Arsenal boss is choosing to launch his sick TV channel in the UK.

“I’m not sure in what way an idiot with a gun against an elephant is a fair chase.

“Mr Kroenke could do the world a great favour by stopping peddling this kind of sickening TV and turning his focus on helping animals he apparently likes to see killed.”

Kroenke is reportedly worth €7.4 billion, making him one of the richest men involved in English football.
