Selangor are currently on a seven-match unbeaten streak, and on Saturday sealed their place in the FA Cup final with a 5-1 aggregate win over PKNS FC.
A lot of the attention for their current form is on Spanish striker Rufino Segovia, who currently leads the season's scoring charts with his 23 goals in all competitions.
However, evergreen player Amri Yahyah too has been integral to their performance, as in the past month the 37-year old has been flourishing as a makeshift playmaker for the Red Giants in midfield, an area that has been one of their major weaknesses in the past two seasons.
When asked about this by Goal following their 1-1 second leg draw against PKNS on Saturday, the former Malaysia international said that he is happy to do what is required of him, whatever that may by.
"This is all down to the head coach's decisions and tactics, and they have been working. I am happy to fulfill my duties on the pitch, and hopefully it will work out even better in our coming matches," remarked Amri.
The veteran player stole the media's attention, when he walked out of the dressing room wearing a traditional Javanese headgear, 'blangkon'.
"The headdress is a gift from someone, they bought it when travelling in Indonesia. I'm not sure whether it's lucky or not!" said Amri with cheekily.
We replied: "Then you'd better not take it off until the final match!"
