Afcon bound Harambee Stars to play Ivory Coast as part of Kenya's preparation

Kenya will play Ivory Coast as part of Harambee Stars preparation for the 2019 Afcon finals.

Kenya booked her places in the continental games for the first time since 2004 after Sierra Leone were disqualified from the ongoing Afcon qualifiers following a Fifa band imposed on the West African nation.

FKF president Nick Mwendwa confirmed that Kenya will play at least three build-up matches, including a tie against Ivory Coast, in France.

“We need about Sh200 million to prepare the team for Afcon. We have a game with Ghana still to play and after that, we’ll camp in France in May, play at least three friendlies before we go to Afcon.

“We will camp in France and play Ivory Coast where they camp,” Mwendwa said on Radio Jambo.

Kenya are top of their group with seven points, one ahead of Ghana while Ethiopia and bottom with one point.
