AFC World Cup Qualfiers: Toyota Top Goalscorer - Mohannad Abdul-Raheem leads the charts

The Iraqi forward is leading the goalscoring charts in the AFC World Cup Qualifiers after the latest round of matches...

As the third round of the 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers in Asia comes to a close, it is Iraq's Mohannad Abdul-Raheem who leads the Toyota Top Goalscorer scoring charts with five goals in eight group games.

The 23-year-old forward, who plies his trade at club level for Iraq's Al Zawra'a, scored four of his goals in Iraq's 4-0 win over Thailand back in October last year. He was also on target for Iraq in their 1-2 loss to Saudi Arabia.

He has been impressive this year at club level as well, leading Al Zawra'a to the AFC Cup West Zone semifinal.

However, it won't be easy for him to win the Toyota Top Goalscorer award, given that Genki Haraguchi (Japan), Ahmed Khalil (UAE), Hassan Al-Haidos (Qatar) and Tomi Juric (Australia) are all breathing down his neck, having scored four goals each.

There are two more rounds left in the third round of the AFC World Cup Qualifiers.
