Having returned to training, the Chanji Boys official believes his side can finish the current topflight season on the high

Abdulganiyu Adeleke is hoping Katsina United can finish in the top 10 of the current Nigeria Professional Football League season.

Before heading for the World Cup break, the Chanji Boys were defeated 2-0 by Enyimba in Calabar, with the loss leaving them in the seventh position.

Having resumed from a three-week long holiday, Abdullahi Biffo’s men were back in training on Tuesday and team manager Adeleke backs them to excel in their remaining 14 topflight games.

"It was initially a two-week break but we decided to extend the break by a week in order to allow the players and officials have more time with their families,” Adeleke told media.

"We now have the majority of them back in the camp and our first training took place in the evening. We have worked so hard to be in the position that we find ourselves in the first half of the season and we will not relent.

"Our target is to end the season among the first ten teams and that remains our priority. The players know what the team wants and what they want for themselves so is a matter of determination and hard work and we will be there,” he concluded.

Katsina United have 36 points from 24 games and will travel to Omoku in Rivers State to reopen their second phase campaign against Go Round FC.
