Abdul Ajagun's brace eases Roda JC’s relegation fears

The Nigerian forward was on song twice to claim a crucial three points against Sparta Rotterdam to ease Yannis Anastasiou's side relegation troubles

Abdul Ajagun scored twice to put daylight between Roda JC and the Eredivisie bottom three with a 3-1 triumph over Sparta Rotterdam at the Parkstad Limburg Stadium.

The former Nigerian U20 forward opened the lead for Yannis Anastasiou's men thanks to Rosheuvel's assist in the first half before grabbing his second 16 minutes into the second half.

Verhaar pulled one back for the visitors as consolation in the 77th minute but Rosheuvel scored in the 89th minute to complete the rout.

The brace ends Ajagun's goal drought in four matches since scoring in his side's 3-1 win against Groningen and his fourth in 28 games this season.
