Abdul Ajagun propels Kortrijk to Belgian Cup victory

The former Nigeria youth international registered his name on the scorer’s sheet as De Kerels progressed to the next round of the Belgian Cup

Abdul Ajagun was on target in Kortrijk’s 5-3 win over RES Durbuy on Tuesday night.

The 24-year-old capped De Kerels' victory in the eight-goal thriller at Guldensporen Stadion.

First half goals from Lucas Rougeaux, Lucas van Eenoo and Jeremy Perbet put Yannis Anastasiou’s men ahead despite efforts from Blatour and Manfredi for the visitors.

Idir Ouali continued the party in the 62nd minute before Ajagun completed the rout in the 80th minute.

Three minutes later, Jordy Jadot scored for RES Durbuy but his strike could not stop Kortrijk from progressing to the next round of the Belgian Cup.

Ajagun was on target on Saturday when De Kerels were held to a 2-2 draw by Anderlecht in a Belgian First Division A encounter.
