Commentary

That's all from the Parc des Princes. Thank you for following our live coverage of this Ligue 1 match!
PSG will now look ahead to a trip to Rennes next weekend as they target back-to-back wins to start the season, while Nimes will be looking for their first points when they host Nice on Saturday.
It is a comfortable victory for PSG on the opening weekend of the Ligue 1 season as they run out 3-0 winners against Nimes. Cavani gave the Parisians a first-half lead from the spot after the referee adjudged Martinez to have handled the ball in the box following a VAR check. Mbappe, Sarabia and Cavani all then had chances before the break but failed to extend the hosts' advantage. Mbappe then eventually doubled PSG's lead in the second half following Bernat's neat cut-back, and Di Maria rounded off proceedings with a calm finish inside the box following Mbappe's sublime through ball.
90' + 3' FULL-TIME: PSG 3-0 Nimes
90' + 1' There will be three minutes of added time.
90' Miguel breaks into the left-hand side of the PSG box and manages to squeeze a low delivery into the middle which Ripart meets, but his flick towards the bottom right-hand corner is dealt with by Areola.
T. Sainte-Luce
T. Valls
89' Sainte-Luce replaces Valls in Nimes' third substitution of the match.
88' Ferhat is set free on the right-hand side of the penalty area and he looks to cut a ball across the face of goal towards Ripart, but Marquinhos intervenes and clears it behind for a corner.
86' Alakouch picks up the ball on the right flank and looks into the box before whipping a delivery towards Ripart, but it evades the striker and Meunier is able to head it back to Areola in goal.
84' Ferhat looks to make a quick break down the right-hand channel, but he is stopped in his tracks when Bernat slides in and the referee then awards Nimes a free-kick. Bernat does not look happy with that decision.
82' Di Maria launches another long ball into the box to which Mbappe rises highest and nods it into the path of Cavani just outside the box, but the striker leans back and fires it over the bar and into the crowd.
P. Valdivia
G. Paquiez
80' Nimes' second change sees Paquiez withdrawn to be replaced by Valdivia.
L. Paredes
Thiago Silva
80' PSG's third switch sees Silva leave the pitch, with Paredes called upon to replace the hosts' captain.
79' Nimes lose the ball inside their own half which allows Mbappe to have a run at goal, but his 25-yard effort does not test Bernardoni and sails well over the bar.
77' A rare second-half chance for Nimes sees Ripart slide forward to get on the end of a low delivery into the box, but he can only direct it wide of the left-hand post.
75' CHANCE! Di Maria whips a ball in towards the unmarked Mbappe at the far post, but his header across goal bounces just wide of the right-hand post. That should really have been a fourth for the hosts.
T. Meunier
T. Kehrer
75' PSG's second subsitution sees Meunier replaces  Kehrer after the full-back limped off with an injury.
H. Duljević
R. Philippoteaux
73' Nimes' first change sees Philippoteaux replaced by summer signing Duljevic.
71' Alakouch travels forward with the ball as he looks to spark an unlikely Nimes revival, and he is brought to ground by Draxler who concedes a free-kick inside the PSG half.
K. Mbappé
Assist
69' That was an excellent assist from Mbappe as the pass was always on, but he needed to be extremely precise to get the timing right. He eventually found Di Maria and the perfect time and the Argentine then made no mistake from close range.
Á. Di María
Goal
69' GOOOAL! It's an instant impact from Di Maria as he makes it 3-0! Verratti dispossesses Paquiez on the left wing and then plays it inside to Mbappe who assesses his options before slotting a measured pass into the feet of Di Maria, and the substitute takes a touch before burying his effort into the bottom right-hand corner.
66' Nimes are desperately looking for gaps in the PSG defence, but they are currently unable to break down the hosts' back line. Miguel now concedes a free-kick deep inside the PSG half after a disjointed passage of play.
Á. Di María
Pablo Sarabia
64' The first subsitiution of the match sees Tuchel call time on Sarabia's league debut and replaces him with Di Maria.
63' Mbappe plays a neat one-two with Verratti in the middle of the Nimes half, but Alakouch is able to intervene just before the forward is able to create some space.
J. Draxler
Yellow Card
61' Draxler receives PSG's second booking of the match after making an aggressive sliding challenge on Alakouch after the ball had gone.
59' Mbappe looks in the mood as he picks up the ball near the halfway line and then runs at the opposition, but the Nimes defence eventually manage to get in his way on this occasion.
58' Mbappe has now been directly involved in five of PSG's last seven goals against Nimes, scoring four goals and registering one assist.
K. Mbappé
Goal
56' GOOOAL! Mbappe makes it 2-0 to PSG! Bernat does well to get on the end of Marquinhos' long ball into the right-hand side of the box, and the defender takes a touch before cutting it back to find Mbappe who fires it into the roof of the net from about eight yards out.
Juan Bernat
Assist
56' That was a very well-worked goal from PSG, as it did not look easy for Bernat to control the delivery which arrived over his shoulder. It was then an emphatic close-range finish from Mbappe, who is now off the mark for the season.
55' Miguel wins the ball for Nimes just inside their own box and looks to break forward, but he is caught by Marquinhos who then looks to capitalise on Miguel going to ground by playing on. However, the referee pulls it back for a Nimes free-kick.
53' It appears Alakouch will be able to continue after that injury scare as he returns to the pitch.
52' Alakouch goes to ground after a late challenge from Bernat, and the Nimes defender is currently receiving treatment.
50' Silva plays it wide to Sarabia who tricks his way past Valls on the right wing before squeezing a cross into the box, but Martinez is on hand to make a first-time clearance.
48' Silva receives the ball from Areola and looks to play it out from the back, but he is tackled from behind by Ripart who reclaims possession and looks up at goal. However, the referee deems it to have been a foul and awards a free-kick in PSG's favour.
46' Both sides are back out and it is PSG who get us underway for the second period.
The players are emerging from the tunnel and we are getting closer to the restart at the Parc des Princes.
The hosts recorded an enormous 78% of the possession in that first half, with Tuchel's side completing 370 passes compared to Nimes' 91. If the Parisians can keep this up, they will look good value to add to their one-goal advantage in the second half.
PSG look good value for their lead at the break after dominating proceedings at the Parc des Princes so far. Nimes started brightly but failed to capitalise on a series of promising positions early on in the half, and PSG then settled into the game just in time for Cavani's opener. The visitors were not happy with the referee's decision to award handball against Martinez but the decision stood, and Cavani then made no mistake from the spot against Bernardoni. PSG could have easily extended their lead with Mbappe, Sarabia and Cavani all going close after the opening goal, while Ripart had the best first-half chance for the visitors.
45' + 3' HALF-TIME: PSG 1-0 Nimes
M. Verratti
Yellow Card
45' + 1' Verratti receives the first booking of the match after his forceful tackle catches Bobichon's leg just outside the Nimes box.
45' There will be three minutes of added time at the end of the first half.
44' PSG's free-kick is played into Verratti just outside the Nimes box and the midfielder plays a ball over the top to Mbappe as he arrives on the left channel, but he mistimes his volley and it sails over the bar.
42' CLOSE AGAIN! PSG should really be 2-0 in front as Mbappe races to the byline before cutting a teasing ball across the face of goal which is met by Cavani, but he fails to make sufficient contact and his close-range effort drifts wide of the right-hand post.
41' CHANCE! Nimes go close to an equaliser as Ferhat fizzes in a delivery from the right wing which is meant by the onrushing Ripart, but he sidefoots his first-time effort just over the bar while under pressure from Silva.
40' Draxler concedes a free-kick on the right wing inside the PSG half, but they manage to clear the danger when Cavani heads away Bobichon's delivery.
39' PSG are seeing plenty of the ball inside the Nimes half. Draxler looks to cut inside from right, but he touches it too far forward and concedes a free-kick when his outstretched leg catches Martinez on the edge of the box.
37' ANOTHER BIG CHANCE! Marquinhos skips past the challenges of Valls and Martinez to feed Draxler through on goal, but Bernardoni manages to touch his dinked effort just wide of the right-hand post.
35' CLOSE! Mbappe picks up the ball on the right wing and bends in an inviting delivery towards Sarabia at the back post, but his volley is tipped over the bar by Bernardoni. That was a solid close-range save from the Nimes goalkeeper.
33' Nimes are enjoying a spell of pressure as Bobichon's dangerous corner is cleared behind by Marquinhos with Martinez also rising high. The second delivery then falls loose in the PSG box, but the hosts are able to clear the danger.
31' Marquinhos and Paquiez compete for a high ball on the far right-hand edge of the Nimes box, but the PSG midfielder has his hands raised and he concedes a free-kick.
30' Verratti creates some space for a delivery from the left wing, but his floated ball into the box is claimed by the rising hands of Bernardoni before Draxler can reach it.
28' Nimes win a throw-in deep inside their own half and Miguel looks to find Ripart with a long throw forward, but the opportunity is wasted as the ball finds its way back to the PSG defence.
26' The hosts are looking good in possession with the vast majority of play taking place in the Nimes' half, as Cavani's opener appears to have settled any nerves after the visitors' bright start.
E. Cavani
Penalty Goal
24' GOOOAL! Cavani makes it 1-0 to the hosts! The Uruguayan makes no mistake from the spot as he buries it beyond Bernardoni in the far left-hand corner. The goalkeeper went the correct way, but Cavani's effort was far too powerful for him.
23' The referee points to the spot! There was adjudged to have been an earlier handball when the ball deflected off Martinez following Sarabia's corner, and the Nimes players are far from happy with the decision.
22' PSG are comfortable in possession deep inside the Nimes half, but the referee has stopped play for a VAR check on a possible earlier handball.
20' Nimes win a corner following Silva's deflection behind, but Miguel heads it wide following Bobichon's testing delivery towards the back post.
18' Diallo receives the ball just inside the PSG hald and assesses his options before surging forward from defence, but he overhits his touch and is forced into conceding a foul when Valls wins it back.
16' CHANCE! Mbappe is being a real nuisance for the Nimes defence as he wins the ball on the right-hand side of the box before dancing his way inside and firing a shot at Bernardoni, but it is straight into the goalkeeper's hands from close range.
14' Martinez is receiving treatment after that collision, but he is quickly back on his feet and looks like he will be able to continue.
13' Kehrer slides a neat ball into the path of Sarabia as he arrives on the right-hand side of the penalty box, but he kicks the air when attempting to strike it while under pressure from Martinez. The winger is appealing for a penalty, but the referee is not interested in his protests
11' Mbappe plays a dummy inside before looking for Bernat on the left flank, but he is instead brought to ground and PSG win a free-kick in a promising area. The eventual delivery falls to Kehrer just outside the box, but his ambitious volley is blocked and cleared away.
9' Bernat has gone to ground after he was caught by Paquiez's late challenge, but it looks like the defender will be able to shake the knock off.
7' Miguel's curling delivery from the left-hand side is heading for Ripart towards the far post, but Diallo rises high to head the ball clear and quell the danger.
6' Cavani does well to control the ball on the right-hand byline inside the Nimes box, but his low delivery across the face of goal is too far in front of Mbappe who was arriving late into the area.
5' A neat through ball from Verratti sets Mbappe free in the box after his neat flick in the build-up, but his first touch is too heavy on this occasion which allows Martinez to win it back.
3' The first corner of the match comes to nothing as the floated delivery is just too high for the awaiting Nimes players, and PSG are able to reclaim possession of the ball.
2' Silva loses possession just inside in the Nimes half which allows Paquiez to feed Ferhat down the right channel, but the latter's delivery is deflected out for a corner by Diallo.
1' The referee blows his whistle and Nimes get us underway in the final match of this Ligue 1 opening weekend.
The players are heading out from the tunnel and we are now nearing kick-off at the Parc des Princes.
PSG twice cruised to victory over Nimes last season as they ran out 4-2 winners at the Stade des Costieres in September before a 3-0 victory on home soil back in February.
A number of Nimes’ key players have moved on this summer, which has resulted in Blaquart making five changes to the side he fielded on the final day of last season. Three summer recruits are due to feature in Nimes’ season opener as Martinez, Ferhat and Philippoteaux all feature in the starting line-up.
Thomas Tuchel names two new signings in his first PSG line-up of the league campaign, with Sarabia and Diallo both set for their home debuts. There is no room for Neymar in the side amid speculation surrounding his future at the club, while a calf problem prevents Herrera from making his league debut.
