That's all for today. Thank you for following our live coverage. Until next time, goodbye!
Madrid will look to continue their momentum at home to Getafe on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Huesca are back in action next weekend, when they travel to Sevilla.
Raphael Varane was the unlikely hero as Real Madrid came from behind to beat Huesca 2-1 at El Alcoraz. Los Blancos fell behind early in the second half through Javi Galan's stunning volley, but Varane's brace turned the contest on its head and ensured that Madrid cut the gap on LaLiga leaders Atletico to seven points. As for Huesca, despite a valiant effort, they remain rooted to the bottom of the table and four points from safety.
90' + 2' Madrid have just over 60 seconds to hang on at El Alcoraz. If they do, it could prove to be a crucial three points in their title defence.
90' We are going to have three additional minutes at the end of this game.
88' You wait a year for a goal, then two come along at once! Varane, who last scored for Madrid in January 2020, has chosen an important moment to net his first goals of this season. It looks like they will be enough to settle the contest in his side's favour.
David Ferreiro
G. Silva
86' Silva also makes way for the hosts, with David Ferreiro coming on in his place.
Juan Carlos
Mikel Rico
86' Huesca respond by making a double-change. The first sees Rico replaced by Juan Carlos.
R. Varane
84' VARANE AGAIN!!! 2-1 REAL MADRID! They have turned it around via a very unlikely source! After Kroos floats a free-kick to the far post, Fernandez can only parry Casemiro's header straight into the path of Varane, who bundles the ball home from close range.
83' You feel that these final seven minutes are going to provide a real test of Huesca's resolve. Madrid are beginning to dominate proceedings and look the more likely to find the game's decisive third goal.
81' GOOD SAVE! Madrid turn up the pressure and Modric's deep cross to the far post is cushioned down for Benzema to strike. His left-footed volley is destined for the top corner, but Fernandez manages to spring across and tip it over the bar.
M. Díaz
Vinícius Júnior
78' Mariano is also introduced in favour of Vinicius.
F. Mendy
78' A double-change for Madrid. The first sees Mendy make way for Marvin.
77' HOW DID THAT STAY OUT?! Benzema cannot believe he hasn't scored there! The ball drops for the Frenchman in the six-yard box after Huesca fail to clear, but he is somehow denied by Fernandez on the line.
75' Segunda Division champions last season, this is only Huesca's second LaLiga campaign in their history. Should this scoreline remain, it would certainly give them confidence of extending their stay in the Spanish top-flight.
Javi Ontiveros
I. Doumbia
73' The hosts turn to the bench with Javi Ontiveros replacing Doumbia.
72' Not far away! After blocking Asensio's free-kick, Huesca launch a quickfire counter with Escriche leading the charge. The ball eventually breaks on the edge of the box for Mir, whose powerful strike flashes just wide of the far post.
70' This match is finely poised as we enter the final 20 minutes at El Alcoraz. Can either side find a winning goal?
68' GOOD SAVE! Lovely link-up play by Madrid as they work their way into the Huesca penalty area. However, Fernandes comes to the hosts' rescue with a smart save to deny Benzema from a tight angle.
67' Activity on the Madrid bench with Marcelo introduced in favour of Odriozola.
66' Vital intervention! Huesca continue to ask questions of the Madrid defence. Escriche embarks on a strong run and looks to thread the ball through for a team-mate, but a sliding Varane intercepts in the nick of time for the visitors.
63' WHAT A SAVE! Terrific reflexes from Courtois deny Mir! The striker ghosts in at the far post to meet Galan's deep cross from the left flank, but his powerful header is somehow kept out by Courtois.
Dani Escriche
S. Okazaki
62' The hosts turn to the bench, replacing Okazaki with Dani Escriche.
59' Important block! Asensio embarks on a powerful jinking run into the heart of the Huesca defence. He works space and gets his shot away, but a slight deflection from Pulido takes it just wide of the target.
57' It is important now that Huesca do not allow their heads to drop after that setback. The hosts worked so hard to edge their noses in front, but must maintain their discipline after being pegged back by Madrid.
R. Varane
55' VARANE!!! 1-1! Madrid are level! Benzema rattled the bar with a fierce free-kick delivery but as the ball dropped from the sky, Varane reacted quickest to head home the rebound. The visitors trailed for just seven minutes.
G. Silva
Yellow Card
53' Silva goes into the book for tripping the onrushing Asensio.
52' What a start to the second half for Huesca. But for a couple of inches here and there, they could have had a 3-0 lead! However, it is important that they continue to perform to those standards throughout the half, while not switching off at the other end.
50' OFF THE BAR! The woodwork denies Huesca a second goal in quick succession! A long ball over the top of the Madrid defence picks out Mir, whose first-time volley rattles the crossbar.
S. Okazaki
48' Okazaki demonstrated great awareness to spot and subsequently pick out Galan on the edge of the box.
Javier Galán
48' WHAT A GOAL, JAVI GALAN!!! 1-0 HUESCA! The hosts take a surprise lead in emphatic fashion! Following a quickfire counter, Okazaki shows tremendous vision to pull the ball to the edge of the area for the onrushing Galan. The winger takes a touch to steady himself, before unleashing a thumping volley that flashes into the top corner.
47' OFF THE BAR! The hosts go straight onto the attack and are whiskers away from breaking the deadlock! A low ball into the box is helped on by Rico, who sees his looping shot cannon against the woodwork with Courtois beaten.
46' Huesca get the ball rolling once more.
It is hard to see how this game will remain goalless, especially with both sides probably needing to go for it in the second half. Huesca could move to within a point of safety with victory, while Madrid will be desperate to close the gap on Atletico at the top.
Nothing to separate the two sides after the opening 45 minutes at El Alcoraz. Chances have been few and far between for both teams, who will look to pose a greater threat after the break.
Pablo Maffeo
Yellow Card
45' Maffeo catches Nacho with a late challenge and goes into the book.
42' It is worth noting that Huesca have taken four points from their last three games. That includes a creditable 0-0 draw with fourth-placed Villarreal, which ended a run of five successive defeats.
40' We are still seeking the opening goal of the game as we enter the last five minutes of the first half. Real will always pose a threat with the undoubted quality they possess, but Huesca shall grow in confidence the longer this contest remains goalless.
37' Real's top scorer this season, Benzema has been directly involved in 15 goals for his side; netting 10 and assisting five. Only Luis Suarez can boast a higher tally in LaLiga.
35' Following a Real free-kick, the ball falls for Benzema to strike on the edge of the box. However, the Frenchman's shot is unable to find a way through the crowded penalty area.
33' With that booking, Kroos will miss Real's home game against Getafe on Tuesday. Given their already long list of absentees, adding another name to the list is definitely something Los Blancos would have wanted to avoid.
T. Kroos
Yellow Card
32' Kroos receives the game's first yellow card after a rash challenge on Maffeo.
30' Real have struggled to pose too many threats on the Huesca goal so far. Los Blancos have been impressive on the road this term; taking 22 points from their 11 away games. Only league leaders Atletico boast a better record in the Spanish top-flight.
27' Today is a good opportunity for Vinicius to show what he is all about. With Hazard injured, the exciting young Brazilian will be eager to demonstrate his quality at every given chance.
25' Just wide! A clever ball from Kroos releases Vinicius in behind the defence. He subsequently lifts the ball over the advancing goalkeeper, but it drops just wide of the post. Although, a goal would not have counted as the offside flag was raised shortly after the conclusion of play.
23' Nothing comes of the corner as Real hold their own to see out the danger. The game remains goalless as we pass the midway point in the first half.
21' A good opportunity for the hosts as they force a corner on the far side. They must look to capitalise on opportunities like these to have any chance of getting something from the game.
19' Huesca look to hit Real on the counter and Mir chases a long ball over the top of the defence. However, Courtois is quickly out of goal and gets there first.
16' Following last week's defeat by Levante, Real come into this game having lost three of their last four in all competitions. Can they turn things around here?
14' The visitors maintain the pressure and a corner is met by Nacho, but he is unable to keep his header down and on target.
13' Vinicius now tries to force the issue for Real. The Brazilian neatly weaves away from a couple of challenges and tries to cut the ball back for Benzema, but it is just lacking the required pace and accuracy and Huesca clear.
11' Travelling at over 12 kilometres per hour, Mendy suddenly cuts inside and embarks on a powerful run into the heart of the Huesca defence. The left-back looks to thread the ball through for a team-mate, but the hosts snuff out his threat.
9' Fair to say that goals have not been easy for Huesca to find this season. In fact, only Elche have scored fewer than their 17 goals in the Spanish top-flight.
7' Fresh from his hat-trick against Valladolid last weekend, Mir has been directly involved in seven of Huesca's 17 LaLiga goals this season. Although, his treble did end a run of 11 matches without the Wolves loanee finding the net.
5' SIDE-NETTING! An unusually loose pass by Modric is pounced on by Seoane, and suddenly Real are on the back foot. The ball is neatly played into Mir, whose first touch takes him a little wide, before he fires into the side-netting from a tight angle.
4' Huesca continue their positive start and Mir gets away down the right flank. The Wolves loanee sends in a low cross looking for Okazaki, who is unable to turn the ball towards goal.
2' The hosts look to start on the front foot and following a neat spell of passing down the left, space opens for Seoane to try his luck. The midfielder unleashes a powerful long-range effort that is not too far wide of the post, although Courtois certainly had it covered.
1' The referee blows his whistle and Real get the match underway!
The teams are out on the pitch and kick-off is moments away.
Real have won each of their three previous matches against Huesca in the Spanish top-flight. A fourth victory here would maintain the pressure on rivals Atletico at the top of the table.
Meanwhile, Zinedine Zidane makes two changes from Real Madrid's surprise defeat by Levante last time out. Both of them are enforced as Nacho replaces the suspended Eder Militao in the heart of defence, while Vinicius Junior comes in for the injured Eden Hazard on the wing. Hazard returns to a lengthy injury list that also includes the likes of Sergio Ramos, Dani Carvajal, Federico Valverde and Lucas Vazquez. The lack of depth in Real's squad is highlighted by the fact that they name just six substitutes for today's game.
It is no real surprise that Pacheta sticks with the same XI that began Huesca's impressive win over Real Valladolid last weekend. Notably names include veteran striker Shinji Okazaki - an English Premier League title winner with Leicester City in 2016. He is partnered up front by Wolves loanee Rafa Mir, who netted a hat-trick last time out. Javi Ontiveros returns from suspension on the bench.
SUBS: Andriy Lunin, Marcelo, Mariano, Victor Chust, Marvin, Diego Altube.
REAL MADRID (4-3-3): Thibaut Courtois; Alvaro Odriozola, Raphael Varane, Nacho, Ferland Mendy; Toni Kroos, Casemiro, Luka Modric; Marco Asensio, Karim Benzema (captain), Vinicius Junior.
SUBS: Andres Fernandes, Borja Garcia, David Ferreiro, Denis Vavro, Pedro Lopez, Sergio Gomez, Dani Escriche, Pablo Insua, Javi Ontiveros, Juan Carlos.
HUESCA (3-5-2): Alvaro Fernandez; Jorge Pulido (captain), Dimitris Siovas, Gaston Silva; Pablo Maffeo, Mikel Rico, Idrissa Doumbia, Jaime Seoane, Javi Galan; Shinji Okazaki, Rafa Mir.
Bottom side Huesca are aiming to close the gap on the teams above them by claiming what would only be a third win of the season. Meanwhile, Real can return to second place and potentially narrow the gap on leaders Atletico Madrid to seven points.
