Commentary

That's all for now though, goodbye!
Bayern of course remain in first place following that result. Meanwhile, Freiburg drop to 10th.
Lewandowski's record-equalling 40th goal of the Bundesliga season isn't enough for a Bayern victory. The visitors took the lead from the spot when Lewandowski netted his landmark goal. But they were quickly pegged back when Gulde glanced Grifo's corner past Nubel. The second half followed a similar pattern: Bayern put themselves ahead again - this time through Sane, after a brilliant pass from Muller. But Freiburg fought hard to get a second equaliser. This time Gunter surged past Sarr, before striking a rasping effort past Nubel from 18 yards, to secure a 2-2 draw.
90' + 4' FULL TIME: Freiburg 2-2 Bayern Munich
90' + 2' Davies' low cross is hammered clear by Lienhart before Lewandowski can arrive.
90' + 1' Three minutes of stoppage time are added as both sides chase a late winner.
D. Alaba
Yellow Card
Bayern München
90' Another yellow card for Bayern, as Alaba goes into the book after dragging Holer down.
88' Grifo's 30-yard free-kick sails harmlessly over the bar.
A. Davies
Yellow Card
Bayern München
87' Davies is booked after bringing down Schmid to stop a counter.
86' More frustration for Lewandowski, who has a volley charged down from 12 yards.
85' Well, Freiburg's equaliser sets us up for a thrilling final five minutes as Bayern attempt to take the lead for the third time today.
83' Chance! Bayern are immediately pushing for a winner. Kimmich's deep cross reaches Lewandowski at the back post, where the striker plants a low header across goal that Flekken tips away to safety!
V. Grifo
Assist
Freiburg
81' It was a deft touch from Grifo to complete the one-two, but surely even he didn't expect Gunter to run all the way into the box, before smashing a sublime 18-yard strike beyond Nubel!
C. Günter
Goal
Freiburg
81' GUNTER! 2-2! It's a brilliant equaliser for the hosts, as Gunter and Grifo work a sharp one-two inside their own half, before Gunter bursts past Sarr and runs 40 yards to get into the box and slam a low effort across Nubel and into the bottom corner from a tight angle!
80' Grifo drills a low shot comfortably wide from 25 yards.
79' Two huge misses from Lewandowski of all people! First, the striker's one-one-one is parried away by Flekken, before Coman collects the loose ball and crosses it for Lewandowski who manages to miskick when presented with an open goal, allowing the ball to loop up for Flekken to claim!
77' Grifo's dangerous low cross is hacked clear by Roca.
75' Another save from Nubel! Haberer deftly skips past Boateng on the edge of the box to find himself one-on-one! However, Nubel quickly rushes off his line and smothers the striker's effort expertly!
Jeong Woo-Yeong
L. Kübler
Freiburg
72' Two more changes for Freiburg: the first sees Kubler make way for Woo-Yeong Jeong.
K. Coman
L. Sané
Bayern München
72' Another switch for the visitors: Sane departs with Coman taking his place in attack.
B. Sarr
N. Süle
Bayern München
72' Sule is replaced by Sarr at right-back for Bayern.
Y. Keitel
B. Santamaría
Freiburg
72' A fifth change for Freiburg sees Santamaria make way for Keitel in midfield.
71' So close for Freiburg! Schmid chips in an accurate cross to an unmarked Holer at the back post, where he takes a touch before rifling a low volley from six yards that flicks off Nubel's wrist, before Sule scrambles across to clear it off the line!
69' Kimmich's deep cross wastefully drifts straight to Flekken.
68' Chance! Grifo plays Gunter in down near the byline and the defender cracks in a vicious cross that Nubel pats cautiously behind!
66' Sane jinks inside from the right flank before lashing a wild shot high and wide.
64' This game has finally settled down slightly, as both teams slow the game down with a raft of substitutions.
Marc Roca
L. Hernández
Bayern München
62' Bayern also make two changes. Hernandez is replaced in defence by Roca.
J. Haberer
N. Petersen
Freiburg
61' Freiburg make a double substitution: the first of which sees Petersen depart for Haberer in attack.
C. Tolisso
T. Müller
Bayern München
61' Muller also makes way for Tolisso.
J. Schmid
R. Sallai
Freiburg
61' For Freiburg's second change in the double substitution, Sallai makes way for Schmid.
60' Lewandowski can't quite engineer the space to shoot from 18 yards and his resulting effort is blocked away.
58' Well, this has been a breathless start to the second half! Bayern flew out and had a goal narrowly disallowed by VAR, before scoring an almost identical goal moments later! But Freiburg could have equalised instantly - just as they did in the first half - but for Grifo missing a huge opportunity!
L. Höler
E. Demirović
Freiburg
56' Demirovic makes way for Holer up top.
55' Huge chance! Freiburg almost equalise for a second time as Gunter dances to the byline before cutting it back to Grifo who slams it into the side-netting from five yards!
T. Müller
Assist
Bayern München
53' That was all about Muller's pass. The attacker instantly volleyed a crossfield switch into a dangerous corridor and Sane met it perfectly to give Bayern the lead!
L. Sané
Goal
Bayern München
53' SANE! 2-1! Muller caresses a first-time volleyed pass into the six-yard box and Sane anticipates the opportunity and gets ahead of his marker to tap it into an empty net!
52' Bayern have a goal disallowed by VAR! Sane slaloms into the box and darts past a number of challenges, before screwing a shot across goal that looks to be heading wide before Gnabry slides in to tap it home from close range! However, replays show that Gnabry was offside and the goal won't stand!
50' Nubel makes a mess of Sallai's long diagonal into the box, but his blushes are spared by the linesman raising his flag for an offside against Petersen.
49' Bayern start the half with plenty of intent as they force a succession of corners, that culminates with Flekken gathering Sane's powerful 20-yard drive.
48' The breakdown of Lewandowski's 40 league goals is fascinating too: he's had 37 goals inside the penalty area, eight of them from the spot as well as five headers, four with his left foot and 31 with his right
46' Bayern get the second half underway.
You get the sense that either side could win it from here, but a record-breaking 41st goal for Lewandowski would be a fitting way for this match to finish.
Lewandowski's record-equalling 40th goal of the Bundesliga season punctuates an exciting 1-1 scoreline at the break. The visitors took the lead when Muller was hauled down from a corner, allowing Lewandowski to score a landmark goal from the spot. It was clearly a huge moment for the striker who celebrated by unveiling a t-shirt with the line "4EVERGERD". However, Bayern's delight didn't last long as Gulde nipped in at the front post to divert Grifo's corner in and make it 1-1. Freiburg deserved the equaliser after a determined display and this match is now delicately poised going into the interval.
45' + 1' HALF TIME: Freiburg 1-1 Bayern
45' One minute of stoppage time is added on.
43' The hosts struggle to clear Kimmich's cross and it eventually falls to Muller who scuffs a shot well wide from the edge of the box.
41' Freiburg attempt to calm the game down again with a long spell of possession inside their own half.
39' Almost for Sane! Freiburg's corner is headed out to Sane who leads a lightning counter-attack all by himself! The flying winger manages to race past Kubler to get clean through on goal, but moments later he trips himself up and the chance disappears!
38' Grifo's 20-yard shot deflects off Boateng and drifts behind for a corner.
37' Freiburg have restricted Bayern well so far and deserve to be on level terms - the visitors have managed just two shots inside the box so far today.
35' Bayern almost cut through Freiburg again, only for Kubler to stretch and cut out Muller's throughball intended for Gnabry.
33' Gnabry's 25-yard shot screws a couple of yards wide of the far post.
31' Well, that was a thrilling five minutes! First Bayern took the lead out of the blue, following a penalty awarded by VAR. Before, Freiburg struck back instantly through Gulde's header!
V. Grifo
Assist
Freiburg
29' It was a wicked delivery from Grifo towards a crowd of bodies at the near post, but Gulde still had plenty to do to flick a precise header in!
M. Gulde
Goal
Freiburg
29' GULDE! 1-1! Freiburg equalise instantly! Grifo whips a corner in towards the near post and Gulde gets there first to glance a clever header across Nubel and into the far corner!
28' That was a wonderful celebration for Lewandowski! The Bayern players quickly formed a guard of honour and the striker raced through high-fiving teammates and taking in the applause!
R. Lewandowski
Penalty Goal
Bayern München
26' LEWANDOWSKI! 1-0! Lewandowski equals Gerd Muller's record of 40 goals in a Bundesliga season! The iconic striker steps up to take the penalty and stutters before sending Flekken the wrong way and slotting it into the bottom right corner!
25' Penalty to Bayern! Sallai pulls Muller down off the ball during a corner, and initially, the referee doesn't notice it. However, a VAR check ensues and after watching replays of the incident, the referee decides to award a penalty!
24' Big save from Flekken! Lewandowski slips Sane clean through on goal with a precise pass, but Flekken rushes out to close down the angle before blocking Sane's hurried shot to safety!
22' Grifo's speculative effort from distance goes high and wide.
20' Chance! Davies' low cross ricochets out to Lewandowski, who - with all the time in the world - plants a shot well wide from the edge of the box.
18' Davies is receiving treatment after Sallai accidentally poked him in the face, but he should be okay to continue.
R. Sallai
Yellow Card
Freiburg
17' Sallai is shown a yellow card after catching Davies in the face with a stray hand.
17' Kimmich's 30-yard shot flicks off Lienhart and goes away for a corner. Sule nods the set-piece back across goal from the back post, but the hosts smuggle it clear.
15' Hernandez picks out Muller in a pocket of space with a fizzed pass, but Santamaria quickly anticipates the danger and gets across to muscle him off the ball.
13' Demirovic catches Sule with a late challenge just inside the Freiburg half, but the resulting free-kick amounts to nothing.
10' Close! Sane cuts inside from the right, before drilling an 18-yard strike narrowly wide of the near post!
8' Grifo will most likely be key if Freiburg are to pull off an upset today. Grifo has had a hand in 17 Bundesliga goals this season (nine goals, eight assists). Since detailed data collection began in 2004/05, only two players have ever been directly involved in more goals for Freiburg in one top-flight campaign: Papiss Cisse (22 in 2010/11) and Max Kruse (19 in 2012/13).
6' The hosts have made a confident start so far. They've settled quickly and have enjoyed plenty of possession, while also stifling Bayern when defending.
4' Kimmich trips Grifo on the edge of the box, presenting Freiburg with a promising crossing opportunity. Grifo elects to try an audacious shot from the set-piece though, and it swerves comfortably wide of the far post.
2' Flekken scuffs a clearance towards Lewandowski, but Hofler just manages to get there first to prevent a mishap.
1' Freiburg get the first half underway.
The players are emerging from the tunnel and kick off is just seconds away!
