KPL Matchday Three: Samuel Odhiambo of Western Stima leads Team of the Week

Goal Kenya.
Western Stima maintained their unbeaten run to hit six points out of three as Tusker picked first victory of the season. But which players stood out?

  1. Goal Kenya.

#1 Samuel Odhiambo - Western Stima

Promoted side Western Stima made it three wins in three matches after downing Kakamega Homeboyz 2-1; and it was because of keeper Odhiambo. He made vital saves that ensured the visitors did not get the second goal.

  2. Goal Kenya.

#2 Brian Birgen - Ulinzi Stars

Mathare United were on fire especially in the first thirty minutes and could have hit the back of the net. Many attacks were channeled from the left wing, but Birgen stood his ground to ensure that nothing bad comes from the area.

  3. Tusker.

#3 Sammy Meja - Tusker FC

The former Thika United player did not have much to do, but his positional awareness and help in attack made him stand out against Mount Kenya United. He gave absolutely everything as the brewers went on to win 3-0.

  4. Goal Kenya.

    #4 Felly Mulumba - Bandari

The Congolese import has started from where he left last season; it was a solid display from him at the back and the icing on the cake was the goal he scored against KCB but was unfortunate for his side to concede what turned out to be a ‘match spoiler’.

  5. Goal Kenya.

#5 Isaac Oduro – AFC Leopards

Was sparingly used last season but he seems to be making up for the lost time. The Ghanaian star, who is the assistant captain, was once again the main man for Ingwe despite a 2-2 draw against Sofapaka on Saturday.

  6. Goal Kenya.

    #6 Hashim Sempala -Tusker

He made the midfield his own, dictating the tempo of the game well and ensured that the visitors (Mount Kenya United) had a rough time to control the proceedings in the midfield as his side registered a 3-0 win.

  7. Goal Kenya.

#7 Cliff Nyakeya - Mathare United

Was unfortunate not to provide an assist or even score! Nyakeya gave absolutely everything on the wing and terrorized Ulinzi Stars fullbacks at will. His crosses were not utilized by the strikers as they battled to a 0-0 draw.

  8. Goal Kenya.

    #8 Clinton Kisiavuki - KCB

Scored a goal that ended up giving his team, KCB, a vital point, first one this season. Overall it was a decent performance from former Nakumatt FC striker. He will be vital for coach Frank Ouna this season.

  9. Goal Kenya.

#9 Enock Agwanda - Sony Sugar

Agwanda was a threat the whole afternoon against Vihiga United. His link up play and overall game was just way above others. Was later rewarded with a late goal that gave the sugar millers maximum points.

  10. Goal Kenya.

#10 Marvin Omondi - AFC Leopards

Marked his return with a goal for Ingwe; this man continues to shine when handed a starting role. Sofapaka struggled to shut him down and the good thing about him was his positioning and ambition to get the goals.

  11. Goal Kenya.

#11 Kennedy Otieno - Western Stima

‘Agogo’ started the match from the bench and was introduced in the second half. He came off to score a brace that helped the power men move top of the table and remain the only side with maximum points after three games.
