#1 Al Ahly look to turn it around against Sundowns

Mamelodi Sundowns have one foot in the next round following their 5-0 first leg win over Al Ahly, but the Red Devils will not give up without a fight.

It will be the sixth meeting between the two sides with Sundowns having won one game, but can they make it back-to-back wins or will Al Ahly succeed in their quest to overcome the Tshwane giants?

#2 Al Ahly a force at home

    #3 Downs firing upfront

Sundowns are one of the tournament's most free-scoring teams.

The Tshwane giants have banged home 25 goals since the beginning of the preliminary rounds.

Themba Zwane is also the club's top scorer with six goals in the competition to date.

#4 Not over yet for Al Ahly?

While a 5-0 scoreline might seem an insurmountable task, Al Ahly have not given up hope.

Their biggest win in this year's competition came by the same margin against a tough Simba side, and with heads expected to roll should Martin Lasarte and his troops fail to achieve the unthinkable, Sundowns will have their work cut out.

#5 Sundowns not as strong on the road

While Sundowns have a formidable home record in this year's Caf Champions League, the same cannot be said of their travels.

Pitso Mosimane's men have won just one game away this season on the continent which was against Leones Vegetarianos in the preliminary rounds.

Out of their last 10 away games in the competition, Downs have been victorious just once.

#6 Downs hope to one day emulate Al Ahly

The clash against Al Ahly may perhaps be the proverbial change of guard in terms of African football, but it will still be a while before the South Africans reach the heights set by the Caf African Club of the Century.

Al Ahly boasts 39 Premier League titles, eight Caf Champions League trophies and six Super Cup crowns.

On the other hand, Sundowns have won just eight PSL titles and a solitary Champions League and Super Cup.
