With the 2019 Asian Cup Draw approaching, GOAL gives you a preview on 21 of the 24 qualified nations.

  1. #1 United Arab Emirates

    The UAE will participate in the 2019 Asian Cup as hosts, and this will be their 10th participation in the Asian Cup.

    They have never won the trophy before, but reached the final in 1996 where they lost to Saudi Arabia on penalties 4-2 after a 0-0 draw in regular time.

  2. #2 Qatar

    Qatar qualified to the 2019 Asian Cup after topping their group in the second round of the Asian Cup Qualifiers with 21 points. This will be their 10th participation, with their best performances being quarter-final appearances in 2000 and 2011.
  3. #3 South Korea

    South Korea qualified for the 2019 Asian Cup after topping their group in the second round with 24 points. This will be their 14th participation, with 2 trophy wins (1956 and 1960) to their record.
  4. #4 Japan

    Japan reached the 2019 Asian Cup after topping Group 5 in the second round with 22 points, and this will be their 9th participation. They have won the trophy a record 4 times: 1992, 2000, 2004, 2011. 
  5. #5 Thailand

    Thailand qualified for the 2019 Asian Cup after topping Group 6 in the second round with 14 points. This will be their 7th appearance in the competition, with their last one coming in 2007 when they hosted it alongside Indonesia, Malaysia and Vietnam.
  6. #6 Saudi Arabia

    Saudi Arabia qualified for the 2019 Asian Cup with 20 points at the top of the first group in the second round of the qualifiers. This will be their 10th participation, with the Greens winning the trophy three times prior: 1984, 1988 and 1996. 
  7. #7 Australia

    Australia are the defending champions, and they qualified for the 2019 edition after topping their group with 21 points in the second round. The Kangaroos have never missed the competition ever since entering the Asian qualifiers in 2006. 
  8. #8 Uzbekistan

    Uzbekistan qualified for the 2019 Asian Cup after topping Group 8 in the second round, and this will be their 7th participation for the nation that never won the competition. 
  9. #9 Iran

    Iran qualified for the 2019 Asian Cup after topping Group 4 in the second round with 20 points. They will participate for the 14th time in their history, after winning the competition 3 times (1968, 1972, 1976).
  10. #10 Syria

    Syria qualified for the 2019 Asian Cup as one of the best second place teams in the second round of the qualifiers. This will be their sixth participation in the competition.
  11. #11 Iraq

    Iraq qualified for the 2019 Asian Cup as one of the best second-placed teams, and this will be their 9th ever participation. It is worth noting that they won the Asian Cup once in 2007.
  12. #12 China

    China qualified for the 2019 Asian Cup as one of the best second-placed teams with 11 points. They never won the trophy, despite reaching the final in 1984 and 2004.
  13. #13 Palestine

    Palestine qualified for the 2019 Asian Cup from the third round of the qualifiers, topping Group 4 with 14 points to guarantee an early spot in the competition.
  14. #14 Oman

    Oman qualified for the 2019 Asian Cup from the third round, coming in second place behind Palestine in Group 4. 
  15. #15 India

    India qualified for the 2019 Asian Cup from the third round, after topping the first group with 13 points. This will be their 4th participation in the competition, with the nation reaching the final once in 1964. 
  16. #16 Lebanon

    Lebanon qualified for the 2019 Asian Cup after topping Group 2 in the Asian Cup with13 points, and this will be their 2nd participation in the Asian Cup after hosting the 2000 Asian Cup. 
  17. #17 Turkmenistan

    Turkmenistan qualified for the 2019 Asian Cup after finishing in second place with 10 points in Group 5 of the third round, and this will be the second participation for the Emeralds after participating in 2004. 
  18. #18 Jordan

    Jordan qualified for the 2019 Asian Cup after topping Group 3 with 11 points in the third round of the Asian Cup Qualifiers. They will participate in the competition for the fourth time in their history.
  19. #19 Bahrain

    Bahrain qualified for the 2019 Asian Cup from the Third Round of the Asian Cup Qualifiers, topping Group 5 with 10 points. This will be their 6th participation in the competition which saw their best finish in fourth place in 2004. 
  20. #20 Vietnam

    Vietnam qualified for the 2019 Asian Cup after finishing in second place with 9 points in Group  3 of the third round. This will be their 4th participation in the competition.
  21. #21 Kyrgyzstan

    Kyrgyzstan qualified for the 2019 Asian Cup after finishing second place of their group in the third round of qualifiers.
  22. #22 North Korea

    North Korea qualified as second place in their group in the third round of the AFC Asian Cup Qualifiers with 11 points, behind table toppers Lebanon with 13 points.
  23. #23 The Philippines

    The Philippines qualified for the Asian Cup for the first time in their history by topping Group F in the third round of the AFC Asian Cup Qualifiers with 12 points.
  24. #24 Yemen

    Yemen qualified for the AFC Asian Cup for the first time in their history by finishing in second place of Group F of the third round of the AFC Asian Cup Qualifiers.
