Where is the Brazil 2016 Olympics gold medal winning team now?

Brazil defeated Germany 5-4 on penalties in the final of the men's football tournament at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games after the game had ended 1-1 at regulation time.

It was the Selecao's first soccer gold medal at the Games after Brazil had been on the podium on five occasions previously, including three silver medals between 1984 and 2012. To top it off, Neymar scored the winning penalty for the hosts after losing the final at the 2012 London Olympics.

    The former Atletico Paranaense goalkeeper was named in the Brazil national team squad for the 2021 Copa America and played in the 2-1 win over Colombia. At the 2016 Olympics, he had recorded five clean sheets in six matches.

    Currently, at the age of 33, he is the first choice at Palmeiras.

    The full-back, who was at Santos at the time and who took over the mantle from Maicon in the right-back position, was involved in all six games at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.

    Now, at the age of 27, Zeca has become a key player for Vasco da Gama.

    The defender from Sao Paulo started in all six matches and formed a formidable partnership with Marquinhos, keeping five consecutive clean sheets.

    At the age of 27, he is still playing in his homeland with Flamengo. He has played five matches for Brazil's senior team.

    The Paris Saint-Germain defender had an excellent pairing with Caio, providing a calm and commanding presence in all six games at the 2016 Olympics. 

    At the age of 27, he is still with PSG and is considered one of the best defenders in the world.

    As a deep-lying playmaker from Beijing Guoan, he also started in all six games.

    Now, at the age of 33, he is still a key player for China's Beijing Guoan. 

    He was a regular with the Brazil national team but hasn't featured since the 2018 World Cup.

    The left-back from Atletico Mineiro was considered to be traditionally more defensive than Marcelo but ended up with two assists in six games at the games.

    Douglas Santos has played just once for the senior national team. Now, at the age of 27, he has moved to Russia with Zenit St Petersburg.

    An attacker from Gremio, Luan was the revelation of Brazil's Olympic exploits. Playing the role of a withdrawn forward, he scored three goals and provided as many assists in six games.

    Luan Vieira has played just two games for Brazil's senior team. Currently, at the age of 28, he is with Corinthians.

    The midfielder from Barcelona only played a role as a super sub who made five appearances late in the game. 

    Rafinha has made just two appearances for Brazil. Currently, at the age of 28, he plies his trade with French giants Paris Saint-Germain.

    The forward from Santos, a.k.a Gabigol, proved himself a man for the big occasion at the 2016 Rio Games with a couple of goals in six matches.

    Gabigol was part of the Copa America 2021 squad for Brazil. At the age of 24, he now plays for Flamengo.

    At the age of 29, he is now a Ligue 1 superstar after his record breaking transfer to Paris Saint-Germain.
