The appointment of Zedekiah ‘Zico’ Otieno as Gor Mahia’s assistant coach has been termed a big boost for the club ahead of league kick-off.
On Wednesday last week,it was officially made known to the public that ‘Zico’, a former player and coach of K’Ogalo was back at the club to replace Tom Ogweno and Kenyan international defender Tobias ‘Juakali’ Ocholla has come out to support the move.
“‘Zico’ is a coach, who understands Gor Mahia very well having been with them in the past. I think the club made the right decision to hire him back and I can confidently predict their victory by the end of the season,” he told Goal.
Gor Mahia beat Muhoroni Youth 4-1 in a friendly match played on Saturday. That was ‘Zico’’s first match on the touchline since his appointment.
