Wolves target Pele wants Premier League move

Wolves target Pele has expressed his desire to move to the Premier League after confirming he will leave Rio Ave this summer.

The midfielder almost signed for the Championship winners two years ago only for an injury to derail the transfer but Wolves may now go ahead with the deal after securing promotion to the Premier League.

Pele has received several offers and suggested that a transfer to England this summer is the most likely outcome for his future.

When he was asked if he is leaving Rio Ave, he told A Bola: “Yes, because I have received approaches and proposals from several clubs.

“I’m going to analyse the proposals with my family and choose the one that I want the most. I’m going to travel for the week.

“Maybe it’s the most likely outcome, but I do not close doors yet.

“As a child I wanted to play in the Premier League. Plus, my whole family lives in London and going for it would be the icing on the cake. I only see them in holiday periods. It would be a unique opportunity to be near them.”

Pele could be the latest player from Portugal to move to Wolves, who have enjoyed the help of Cristiano Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes over the past couple of years.
