West Ham have tabled a club-record £40 million (€45m/$53m) bid for Lazio star Felipe Anderson, and are closing in on the signing of Jack Wilshere, Goal can confirm.
The club expect to complete the signing of Wilshere, the former Arsenal midfielder, on a free transfer on Monday after he called time on a 10-year stay at the Gunners.
Goal reported this weekend that the 26-year-old would have to pass exhaustive medical tests to prove his fitness prior to signing , and sources have confirmed that Wilshere has done just that, and will sign in time to take part in the Hammers' pre-season training camp in Switzerland.
Versatile attacker Felipe Anderson, meanwhile, has been a target of Manuel Pellegrini's since he took the West Ham job, and the deal finally appears to be gaining traction after previously reaching something of an impasse.
However, club figures have been locked in negotiations with the Serie A club, and have now upped their offer to £40m. Bonuses are expected to top that figure up and the Hammers are hopeful of completing their record signing this summer.
West Ham have also initiated contact with Borussia Dortmund over the possible signing of Andriy Yarmolenko and remain in talks with the German club.
The Ukraine international is valued at €20m (£17m/$23m) by the Bundesliga side, per ClaretandHugh, but it is as yet unclear if the club will try to sign both players, or merely one.
West Ham have already signed goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski, centre-back Issa Diop and right-back Ryan Fredericks, and Pellegrini has confirmed that he intends to reshape his squad.
“I hope that, next week, or before we finish July, the fans of West Ham will have good news," he told the club's official website . "We are trying to build a strong squad and to find the players that we need.
“Probably we are going to see new faces soon.”
