We don't fear you, Nyasa Big Bullets tell Gor Mahia ahead of Caf Champions League showdown

Nyasa Big Bullets say they don’t fear Gor Mahia as the Malawi side prepares to face the record Kenyan champions in the Caf Champions League.

K’Ogalo drew the Malawian side in the preliminary rounds, whom they last met, in 1082. But Bullets will test their strength against some of East Africa best opponents after they landed a friendly with Tanzanian Simba SC and Jeshi La Kujenga Uchumi (JKU) of Zanzibar, on their way to Nairobi.

"I think they (Gor Mahia) are our match. We do not need to panic. We just have to play one friendly game before facing them. I am sure we can pull a surprise if we prepare well for the game,” Silver assistant Coach Lovemore Fazili was quoted by Times.mw.

“We are not scared of facing any team because we are also a big team. As you know, we are traveling to Tanzania and Zanzibar for friendly games. It is good that we will be playing against Simba and JKU who are in the same region as Gor Mahia,” Bullets’ CEO Fleetwood Haiya added.

The first leg will be staged in Nairobi between November 27/28 with the return leg set for early December. This will be the first meeting between since 1982 when they settled for a 1-1 draw in the Cecafa Club Championship.

The winner between Bullets and Gor Mahia will face either Lobi Stars of Nigeria or Cameroon’s US Loum in the first round of the elite continental club championship.

But the fact that Bullets will be starting at home, or even the recent news that Gor Mahia warmed up for the game with a clash against highly rated opponents-EPL side Everton is nothing to scare away the expected visitors.

Gor Mahia, on the other hand, bid the top tier competition at the first round to drop to the Caf Confederation Cup where they reached the Group stages.
