The 2016 Caf Champions League and PSL winners are hoping to defend the Nedbank Cup this year

Mamelodi Sundowns forward Sibusiso Vilakazi insists that they will not underestimate their Nedbank Cup opponents Mariveni United.

The Brazilians, who are the defending champions, were pitted against United during the 2017 Nedbank Cup Last 32 draw in Johannesburg on Thursday.

During the 2012 edition, Sundowns hammered lower division side Powerlines FC 24-0, but Vilakazi has warned his team-mates against complacency.

“It’s quite an interesting one. But it’s a cup game, and in a cup game you have one shot to either win or you are out," Vilakazi told Sundowns' official website.

SA League side United, who are nicknamed Amanandos, are based in the village of Nkowankowa in the Limpopo province and they are a closed book for Sundowns.

"But we will gather as much information as possible about them. We want to win,” the 27-year-old midfielder-come-striker said.

“Look, that (beating Powerlines) was then. The game keeps changing. It’s going to be a good test for us and also for them. We are motivated. We take it as a cup final.”

“It will be very special. We have a good squad, but this will be very interesting," the South Africa international concluded.

The Last 32 matches are scheduled to take place during the week of March 8-14.
