U.S. national team news: Bruce Arena makes 11 changes against Nicaragua

Bruce Arena has fielded a completely different side from the one he started against Martinique as the the United States closes out the group stage of the Gold Cup against Nicaragua.

It will be an entirely new starting XI for the USA, with 11 changes made by the national team boss.

Jorge Villafana, Matt Besler, Graham Zusi, Dax McCarty, Joe Corona, Alejandro Bedoya, Kelyn Rowe and Dom Dwyer return to the side after starting the opener against Panama but sitting against Martinique.

Bill Hamid replaces Brad Guzan in goal, with the goalkeeper making his first start for the national side since November 2014.

Chelsea defender Matt Miazga will see first action of the tournament, and make his first ever start for the senior side.

Chris Pontius, who appeared as a substitute against Martinique, also gets the start. It will be his second ever for the national team.

With Panama defeating Martinique 3-0, the USA will need a three-goal win in order to guarantee first place in Group B.
