The Under-17 World Cup is a platform for the most talented youngsters across the world to showcase their skills. Scouts, agents and clubs keep an eye on performances in order to pick the best lot at a younger age.
For those agents and clubs hoping that they will be able to attract the best talent, their hopes have been left up in the air.
The 21 players who shall don the national team jersey at the World Cup cannot be signed by any agent.
“We have put in a clause in the contracts of all our age group teams that they cannot sign with any club or agent without our permission," informed a senior AIFF official.
The Indian FA wants the players to play together in the I-League next season in order for them to continue their development.
