Ulinzi Stars have resumed training ahead of the FKF Shield Cup third-place playoff on Saturday.

The Soldiers will face off with AFC Leopards for the third Shield at the Moi International Sports Center (MISC) Kasarani.

Coach Dunstan Nyaudo assembled the team on Monday after a week-long break following the conclusion of the league on October 7.

“The season has been so grueling and they needed that rest. It is the best way to get them to give their all and now we are hoping for a good week of training and finish off with a win over Leopards on Saturday.

"We’d have liked to be playing for the title but that is the nature of football so we will be going all out for a win in the playoff,” Nyaudo told the club website.

This will be the third meeting with AFC Leopards this season; the first two meetings have produced 2-1 wins for either side.
