Elijah Mwanzia is relishing the prospects of facing former employers Mathare United in the last match of the season on Sunday.

Mwanzia will meet his former employers, Mathare United for the first time since decamping to Ulinzi Stars in mid-season and he hopes to have a big impact.

Mathare United holds a special place in Mwanzia’s heart; his three goals at the tail end of the 2017 season helped Mathare United secure survival in the top flight and he says it has always been his wish to face them.

Having trained well in the week, Mwanzia is hoping to get a chance to face his former team mates, and though there is pressure in the game, looking at both teams’ ambitions, he hopes he can get to score in the clash.

“Playing Mathare United is something special for me; I have always wished for this chance to meet them again and here we are. I hope the coach picks me for the match,” Mwanzia told Ulinzi Stars website.

“I have trained well all week and I feel ready for the game. I have hopes that I can get a goal in the game and also looking at the fact that I have not scored for Ulinzi Stars in the league, I see this a good chance for me. It comes with a lot of pressure but the coach has been helping me a lot.”

The final game of the season will come just before the team plays AFC Leopards in the FKF Shield third place play-off.
