Ulinzi Stars coach Dunstan Nyaudo targets strong finish against Mathare United

Ulinzi Stars coach Dunstan Nyaudo has urged his charges to finish off the season with a win against Mathare United.

The Soldiers returned to winning ways after picking a 2-1 win against AFC Leopards on Sunday. The win at Afraha Stadium came on the back of two straight defeats, to Kariobangi Sharks in the FKF Shield Cup, and Zoo in the league.

Coach Nyaudo has now challenged his troops to go for another win against the ‘Slum Boys’ when the season concludes on Sunday. “We were seriously disoriented by the loss to Sharks in the Shield semis, then against Zoo it was all about hard luck, so going to the AFC Leopards game we promised ourselves to win.

"I am glad at what I saw because we were mentally prepared and now we want to sign off on a high,” Nyaudo told Ulinzi Stars website.

Nyaudo still has another game against AFC Leopards to prepare for, in the Shield third place play-off and he feels that the Sunday win is a good precursor for the clash.

“AFC Leopards is a big team and has backing and motivation from the fan base but I am not worried about that. Their problems have been a result of the lack of stability in the coaching department but they have a good team and I think the game was a good preparation for the third place play-off.”
