The final places are set to be decided this week in the world’s greatest football club competition – the UEFA Champions League. The fourth and final qualifying round saw all six first leg ties take place, with the first three return encounters scheduled for this coming Tuesday evening (28 August).

Getting the ball rolling

First things first, swing by the Oddsshark website, procure your favourite betting agency and sort out your very own account with a username and password. As a new customer and with the group stages of the Champions League set to get underway in September, there should be a wide range of promotions and offers for you to enjoy.

Where should I be investing my money?

Dinamo Zagreb welcome Swiss club Young Boys on Tuesday with the two sides having played out a 1-1 draw in Zurich last week. And another closely fought contest could well be on the cards in Croatia.

The advantage is most certainly with Dinamo after avoiding defeat in Switzerland, but Young Boys cannot be written off just yet. It cannot be denied however that Dinamo’s recent form has been nothing short of excellent, with the side winning their last five matches in a row in front of their own fans.

Looking at a straightforward bet on who will progress from the tie, Dinamo are the slight favourites to qualify at a price of 1.75. You could however double your money by backing Young Boys at 2.00.

And looking at this return encounter Dinamo’s advantage looks greater. The Croatians are at 2.25 to win on their own turf, with Young Boys at 3.20 to pick up a victory on the road – a narrow, 1-0 win for Dinamo is priced at 8.50, meaning that a US$5 bet would lead to a US$42.50 pay out.

Ajax need to defend lead

Dutch giants Ajax Amsterdam meanwhile travel to Ukraine to take on Dynamo Kiev and looking to defend their 3-1 lead from the first leg. As a result, the former European champions are very close to booking their place in the group stages of the Champions League for the first time since the 2014/15 season, but should take nothing for granted.

Ajax warmed up for this continental tie by hammering FC Emmen 5-0 this past Saturday and can come into this game brimming with confidence. We could see yet more goals in this clash.

The Dutch club re the clear favourites to progress to the group stages at a price of just 1.12, with Dynamo out at 6.00 to overturn that 3-1 deficit. And even just considering this second leg it is Ajax who have their noses just about in front.

You can more than double your money by backing the visitors to pick up another win at a price of just 2.55. Meanwhile, Dynamo are only slightly further out at 2.62, but the technical quality of Ajax cannot be underestimated – a 2-1 win for the Dutch is priced at 10.00, offering a ten-fold return on any investment.

AEK close to sealing spot

And finally, Greek champions AEK Athens are close to ensuring their place in the group stages at the expense of Hungarian outfit MOL Vidi. AEK won 2-1 in Budapest last week and are now looking to finish the job in front of their own fans.

MOL have performed miracles just to reach this stage of the competition but look to have met their match at long last. AEK kicked off their domestic title defence this past weekend with a comfortable 2-0 win over Giannina, the perfect preparation for this crunch clash.

And looking at the odds for who will qualify over the two legs, AEK are streets in front. The Greeks are at just 1.040 to progress, with MOL now all the way out at 13.00 to pull another rabbit out of the hat.

And looking at this second leg tie, AEK should pick up another win. The home side are at just 1.50 to complete a pair of victories, while MOL are at 7.50 to cause an upset in the Greek capital.

AEK are at 6.00 to win by a comfortable 2-0 score line, while you can more than double your money by backing them to win to nil (without MOL scoring a goal). And you could potentially more than quadruple your investment by backing AEK to win both halves – they are at 4.33 to do so.

Champions League qualifying 2nd leg ties:

(1.50) AEK x MOL (7.50); draw (3.75)

(2.25) Dinamo Zagreb x Young Boys (3.20); draw (3.30)

(2.62) Dynamo Kiev x Ajax (2.55); draw (3.40)
